I'm back again to update my comings-forth and goings-on. The writing is moving along at a slower pace lately. This is in part because of my tough schedule this time of year. Normally my day job starts to pick up in demand, but it's been a bit heavier than normal already. This usually means I have need of a lot of down time between breaks for writing, sleeping, eating, and generally being available for all of those never-ending social necessities that fall into the cracks between.
On the Chain hardcover front, the editing is nearly finished. I'm a few weeks behind my prior schedule, but that became somewhat expected after the calendar went haywire. I'm not entirely sure when I'll be able to wrap that up and get it into the hands of those gifted formatters and graphic artists. Hopefully sooner rather than later. My primary editor is busier than I am right now, and she needs to go over all of the Chain work before it gets sent out, so that may be another country heard from.
In the meantime I'll be plugging away at the Xarhcanum, Jaliun, and going over the trilogy edits. This time of year can be tricky for me (reiterating). All of my musical creations have been put on hold for the same reason. You'll have to bear with my goofy schedule. Having a release of the final book in the trilogy last year, over this same time period, was a grand thing, but 2016 is already a different animal.
Rest assured, Xarh isn't going away or being put on the table. There's always another layer being added somewhere, it's just a matter of timelines being shifted around and releases being tinkered with.
Be safe out there, my friends. I'll see you soon. Happy reading!

Hello, all! Thought I'd pop on in to mention I'll be posting the occasional page from my material. This is a snippet from the Consortium Chain. I'll be tossing these in randomly in between my standard updates. I have plans to eventually start adding the occasional author interview as well, but that hasn't found much traction as yet.
See you soon!

Greetings, Xarhians! Good to see you here again.
I thought I'd pop in and give a quick update. I'm working through the Chain hardcover edits and additional content with a relative quickness, due to the extra freetime I've had. There's never enough time in the day, but lately I've had a bit to spare. With luck, the hardcover work, on my end, will be finished in the next few weeks. That should allow me a fair amount of extra Jaliun time while the outside editing and layout work is completed. The Chain will be set in stone before long.
After I finish the hardcover work, it will be sent out to my good friends at Blue Harvest Creative, and that will be an exciting new endeavor to partake in. I can't give out any specifics on timeframe, but I know now that there will definitely be a Xarhian release or two around the corner. Jaliun may fall somewhere in the neighborhood of the latter part of 2016 (hopefully), but I'd like to get that project within the calender year if ready. We shall see.
In other news, the Canon Xarhcanum is slowly progressing as well. Between the work being done with the Xarhcanum and the addition of the occasional short story to Shores of Ornateam, there's always something going on with the future. It should be an exciting few years.
After all of those projects are released, I'll be diving headlong into the next trilogy. There's a fair amount of outlining and initial notation already constructed for those books. The plan is to build the flesh of Xarh around the bones of other writings while I create them. The Consortium Chain was a view of the power structures in place, during that particular window in time, and the next trilogy will have a similar tone; albeit with glimpses of the future.
As always, enjoy your reading! I'll be back into the swamps of Banthyk before long.

Greetings, Xarhians! I hope all's well with you and yours. Everything's good on my end. Not much new to report on the writing front. The work continues on the hardcover, Jaliun, and Shores. The Xarhcanum gets a little note-taking, from time to time, but that's about all it needs right now.
I'm hoping to get the hardcover finished, at least on my end of the process, somewhere within the next month or two. Then it's out of my hands and I can move on to Jaliun with the full attention it needs. The short story I have finished is still awaiting editing. There's a lot on our plates around the old homestead lately. It'll all come eventually.
Keep checking in! In the meantime, I'll be back at it. See you soon, all!

Greetings, everyone! I'm happy to announce Cheri Stollings has once again created another fantastic rendition of one of the characters from the Consortium Chain novels. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the leader of the Jerpin Wave, Myx Jerpin. Once again, I can't thank Cheri enough. She has done great things for me and the world of Xarh with her artistic vision. For those new to Xarh, Myx appears in books two and three of the Chain trilogy.
On other fronts, the writing continues at a steady-but-slow pace. There are a few reasons for that. For one, I have been building short stories, off and on, for some time now. One of those shorts is awaiting editing, and I have put most of my other tasks with writing on hold because of it. That particular short will be sent overseas. For two, I've found an old friend; music. I've been building musical variations around Old Norse poetry, and it's fast becoming much more than a simple distraction of a hobby. This is starting to stand tall as an accompaniment to the world of Xarh itself. I will continue to build music as I build Xarhian tales. They will both be a priority for me, so, consequently, there will be a natural slowing of some writing material's release.
Not to worry, I still have big plans for all of Xarh and all of my readers. There will always be a place at the table for the future pathways of the Xarhian story. In 2016, there will be the release of the Consortium Chain hardbound, followed by the release of Jaliun: A Banthyk Crime Lord Novel. Those will be followed by the release of Shores of Ornateam. Somewhere in there we'll fit the Canon Xarhcanum. The Xarhcanum may well come in between the hardcover and Jaliun, but I cannot be certain at this point.
Well, I think I've got a lot of work to do, so I'll leave you to your books. I hope you have an enjoyable read, Xarhians! Until next time!

Back again! I had to stop in to show off this fantastic painting created by checkeredpanda on deviantart. It's so nice to have multiple mediums at play with these images. The various interpretations of the books and images by the artists is fun for me to view. There's always room for variety in this process, as no two readers will truly see the characters in the same way. And multiple artists may have vast differences in even the closest of descriptions. This is a great example of that. Paint has its own style, along with the vision, so the medium makes a distinction that is also important.
Much thanks to you, panda. I will be in touch.
I'll be back soon, all! There's a rumor Myx Jerpin may make an appearance at the Bazaar. That's worth every coin of the emperor, in my estimation. See you then!

Greetings, Xarhians! I'm elated to showcase a few more works of Xarhian art by the amazing Cheri Stollings. She is doing such a fantastic job with these. I have such gratitude for her efforts! Just spectacular. These images, one of Sekkar and Bulka from Of Power and Deception and one of Queen Harfaya Sha in Cloudsreach, will be used in rotation with the other fantastic works already in circulation. It's such a pleasure to have such a talent at work on these concepts.
And there will be more coming! I await a work from another artist as well. Things are heating up around the old Empren Bazaar.
On the writing front, I'm headlong into a short story I'm creating for a compilation overseas. I'm really looking forward to seeing how that all shakes out. The tale is a good one, and I'm fast becoming enamoured with the main character. He'll definitely make an appearacnce in future Xarhian tales. A wandering salesman with a taste for the finer things in life and a classically sharp tongue? Who doesn't want more of those
After the completion of that short I'll continue to work on the Consortium Chain hardcover editing. I'll be getting in touch with my good friends at Blue Harvest Creative to begin work on that beast of a book. After that comes the rest of Jaliun: A Banthyk Crime Lord Novel. Jaliun has gone through a lot of changes so far, and I anticipate several more. It will be good to go back to Banthyk yet again. I miss the frigid swamp.
So, there we are! I hope you enjoy these images. And, as always, happy reading my friends! Until next time.

Greetings, Xarhians! I'm back to show off this stunning interpretation of Lady Farahnna Sha and her guards. This piece was created by the ever-talented Cheri Stollings. It's such an impressive work. This piece will recieve a lot of attention by yours truly when it comes to advertising, that much is certain.
And, on a related note, I have the luxury of working with Cheri again on a few more images to come. This is budding into a wonderful friendship, and I look forward to our future. She has a keen eye for dark fantasy, and a wonderful ability to translate my words into imagery.

Hello again, Xarhians! I'm happy to report all is well on the northern front. The fall colors are popping up all over the area and the writing is coming along well. I love this time of year.
In other news, there will be more Xarhian art appearing before long. The last of the Of War and Consequence related pieces, featuring Farahnna and her guards, is under construction by the talented Cheri Stollings. I can't wait to see what she comes up with! Cheri and I will also be involved in a number of other pieces going forward. The work will shift into Of Power and Deception's imagery. I can't thank Cheri enough for her efforts. These are good times.
Work continues on both the hardcover edition and Jaliun. I'm tinkering with the Xarhcanum from time to time, but it's not the primary focus. I'll keep you updated if anything changes, but that seems to be the desired pathway. The music is also being sprinkled in from time to time. That's a fun way to expand my creative process while advancing the potential of Xarhian goodness in the future.
As always, keep up the reading! Many safe and happy travels to you, dear readers.

Greetings, Xarhians! I trust all's well on your end? Things are going according to plan over here.
There are a few minor deviations from my standard schedule, as I've taken to some new musical endeavors, so there may be a little bit of a hiccup from time to time. I'm branching into some new avenues of art and, at the same time, rekindling some of my old ways. There should be a healthy crossover coming eventually. I plan to swing full-scale into Xarhian music tracks after I dabble a bit more with some of my own non-Xarhian tastes.
Other than that, not much new to report. I'm still working on the hardcover edits and the other books. It would be nice if there were more time in the day, but such is life. I'll keep squeezing every last ounce out of it I can.
As always, happy reading my friends! Until next time!
